How to overcome guilt feelings after failing to score the cutoff in the Probationary Officer level exam?

Bank exams are not easy to crack for some candidates, for some or the other reason. The difficulty level is considerably higher than other exams such as Staff Selection Commission Exams, Railways Recruitments, etc. Quantitative and Language sections demand thorough knowledge and analytical aptitude. Even if one acquires the same they tend to fail to score the cutoff in IBPS PO or SBI PO level exam.
Starting with the preparation again is difficult as most of the candidates feel guilty and feel low after seeing their score card of IBPS or SBI.
First thing that one should do before restarting the bank exam preparation is to stop feeling guilty. It will give you inferiority complex and insecurity which will not help you in future. Even if you join Bank Coaching in Dehradun or elsewhere, you cannot win unless you overcome the guilt feelings after your recent failure.
It is generally observed that students feel guilty because of the following reasons:
Scoring low in IBPS or SBI PO Exam: When you have scored very low in your recent IBPS PO or SBI PO Exam. It discourages you to study further or at times one wants to leave the hope of grabbing the DREAM JOB.
Insecurity about your qualifications: In case you have attended not so reputed college for your graduation and feeling that to be the reason of your failure. It makes you feel insecure at many occasions especially when you are going to face the interview. This feeling looses your confidence and you do not want to work hard anymore for the future exams.
Personal reasons: The most observed reason that makes one feel guilty at personal end is when someone in your relatives or friends have got a high profile job and you have not been able to grab any of that level. It makes you feel that you are not at par with your nears and dears. It leaves your mind with pain and agony which one needs to overcome before it’s too late.
BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE IT IS BETTER TO OVERCOME THE FAILURE BLUES OR YOUWILL LAND UP IN A DITCH…..here are some tips to overcome the guilt of failure in the exam these are:
  1. Stop being a part of negative talks regarding your exams and think ahead.
  2. Avoid discouraging chats like new pattern is difficult, cut-off is going to be on the higher side, etc. These thoughts makes your mind feel low, which is a limiting factor for the confidence required at the time of exam preparation.
  3. Make a routine of exercising daily to keep your body and brain fresh. Do lot of physical exercises like pushups, brisk walk, running, etc. it will give you good and positive feelings and you will be self motivated to sit again to study.
  4. Avoid gossips with your friends on phone, whatsapp or facebook, because these people want to talk for time pass and you will be wasting your time and energy.
  5. Stop talking about the issues regarding other’s life and concentrate on your life and future. Once you are involved in it you tend to have self – doubt and guilt feeling which stops you from improving yourself.
